Edoardo Frediani

Edoardo Frediani

Edoardo is a founding partner of Swordpoint. His focus is on advising financial institutions on their internal and external communication. This has included supporting investment banks in winning pitches, wealth management organisations in understanding their clients’ needs so that they propose the right solutions, asset managers in winning new mandates, updating trustees and consultants, and new product launches.

With his knowledge of a number of languages, he has coached senior management teams for IPO roadshows and M&A transactions as well investor relations related communication, including results presentations and investor days.

He was educated at UCL in London and recently undertook the “Leading Professional Service Firms” executive programme at Harvard Business School. On leaving UCL, Edoardo was a member of the Baltic Exchange and traded as a ship broker for 5 years. He then spent 3 years as a Lloyd’s broker handling large corporate accounts.

Roly Grimshaw

Roly Grimshaw

Roly is a founding partner of Swordpoint. In addition to speech writing and advising on specific events, such as new business pitches, conference speeches, product launches and financial roadshows, Roly has conducted coaching programmes for senior individuals and groups all over the world.

He is often involved in the preparation for actual events that require liaison with other advisors for such critical communications such as results presentations, IPO roadshows and trade sales.

He coaches at board level, both in one-on-one meetings and with teams that are working on a particular project. He lectures at the London Business School and Insead. He has had several articles published, including at the Harvard Business School.

He has been coaching since 1992, after a career in the communications world, including working for advertising group Omnicom, the British Government, and as an Equerry to HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.

Bakhtiyar ‘Ba’ Pataudi

Bakhtiyar ‘Ba’ Pataudi

‘Ba’ is a founding partner of Swordpoint. His focus is on supporting banks’ clients, sponsors’ investee companies and corporates to communicate to maximize value in all sell side and capital markets transactions and financings.

In addition, over the last 9 years Ba has coached business leaders and talent in leading organizations, to maximise impact in leadership communications. He also coaches at corporate and independent Business Schools such as ING Business School and London Business School.

A key strength is his diverse international professional background. Ba has lived and worked in both Asia and Europe. He has over 25 years’ experience in London, Europe and Asia. His career has included Partnership of Korn/Ferry International, Shipping Finance with H.Clarkson and Company and banking with Barclays Merchant Bank. He holds a BA in Economics.

William de Rouet

William de Rouet

William is a founding partner of Swordpoint. He has over 12 years experience advising senior executives in the art of presentation and spoken communication, ranging from informal internal communications, to external formal presentations.

He specialises in preparing companies and individuals for competitive pitches and major presentations, such as analyst meetings, AGM’s and IPO Roadshows. He has also worked extensively alongside private equity firms and their investee companies preparing them for investor presentations.

William has worked in a variety of sectors (financial, technology & pharmaceuticals) in, North America, Europe and Asia/Pacific.

Prior to joining Swordpoint, William read Agriculture at The Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester and spent six years in the Army, serving around the world, and was an Equerry to HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.

Ed West

Ed West

Ed is a Partner in Swordpoint having recently merged his Singapore based communications consultancy, Fox-West with that of Swordpoint, to help give both firms more of an international reach and presence. Ed now divides his time between Europe and Asia. Since 1998 he has been coaching clients before key communications, sales pitches and media Interviews. He helps his clients develop compelling and persuasive messages and then deliver them in their own naturally confident style, even when under intense pressure.

Ed has worked at board level with more than half the top ten listed companies in Singapore. He has worked with many of the leading global investment banks and been flown around Asia in support of their major pitches. He passed the Securities and Futures exam in London and has worked on the investor presentations of many large fund raising exercises helping to successfully influence investors and raise more than fifteen billion dollars for funds and corporations.  Before moving into communications, Ed spent five years running the UK sales office of a German chemical company where he increased sales by almost 400% and gained a Certificate in Professional Sales from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He has also spent 2 years working at PwC where he coached the firm’s partners, worked on key sales pitches and developed a communications training business.

Ed studied History and Politics at Newcastle University. He has lived and worked in Europe, Asia and Africa. In Kenya he worked as a racing commentator for the Jockey Club of Kenya.

John Walter

John Walter

John has advised clients in all aspects of spoken communications since 1989. He has coached professionals at all levels to ensure that they construct and present clear, simple messages that provide robust added-value and clear benefit to their listeners. In addition, clients learn how not to waste valuable preparation time.

This advice has ranged from helping with internal communications including Board Meetings, to external events such as conferences, new business ‘beauty contests,’ and presentations to the financial community (analyst meetings, AGMs, trade sales and IPO roadshows).

As a fluent Spanish speaker, John has also advised the management teams of a number of Spanish companies, in preparation for their results, international investor conferences and transactions.
